Day 30 - NYC

First stop: Macaron Cafe!

These amazingly pretty French cookies are just out of this world delicious. Most people may have seen them due to the stand out colors and flavors. I definitely grabbed a box of 6 ($14) to take home with me since the Macaron Cafe isn't located in Colorado Springs.

Next Stop: Dylan's Candy Bar!

Now who doesn't like candy?! Well it's hard to enjoy at 6.99 per 1/2 pound. Of course I was way overweight due to the fact that I have a craving for anything gummy and started eating my candy as soon as I swiped my credit card to pay. Was definitely worth it in my mind because I love candy. I'm nice enough to save some candy to bring home to my siblings since Dylan's Candy Bar also isn't located in Colorado Springs.

Later on my best friend and I took photo booth pictures (my face was priceless) and went browsing around stores like Bloomingdales checking out bags we couldn't afford at the moment (I would kill for a Chanel bag). Of course we had to grab a bite to eat. We stopped off at a pizza shop because of course, nothing's as good as NYC pizza. I didn't actually eat pizza this time. I did grab some yummy garlic knots though. Can't believe it's my last day to do anything because I'll be up bright and early tomorrow to catch my Delta flight home.

Day 29 - NYC

Just a lazy Monday. Nothing interesting happened today at all considering I stayed at home in bed and watched tv. Definitely going to head out tomorrow with friends and run some quick errands since it will be the last day before I leave.

I'm not too excited to head home because I know I won't be doing much. I need to get my license. I really wanna get that when I get back and then maybe I'll consider getting a job. And of course I have to get ready for school. I'll be sooooo busy! Not looking forward to it.

Week 4 - NYC

Today was an alright day. Did a lot of walking around at South Street Seaport today. Was a bit rainy and got heavier throughout the day which bummed our chances of walking across the Brooklyn bridge. So Instead we pretended to be tourists for awhile but got bored because it really isn't super fun at the seaport. We spotted the water taxi and were tempted to get on but changed out minds due to weather.

We spotted a really cute macaron shop and decided to get a macaron each. They were really small and not the greatest tasting. I would prefer to go to the Macaron Cafe or Laduree but we were no where near close by to one so this had to do.

Day 27 - NYC

Yet another but not my last chill day. I started somewhat packing today after I did some laundry which felt good to do. Most likely will head out tomorrow even though the weather isn't looking too nice. My last day for hanging out will be Tuesday. Can't believe time is going by so fast. A little too fast! I don't think I'm ready yet. Ahhhhhh!

Day 26 - NYC

Had such a fun day at Coney Island today. It's been awhile but so far it doesn't seem like it has changed much since the last time I've been here. Definitely did a lot of walking on the boardwalk and had amazing funnel cake. I love walking around and taking in the view. Didn't get much into the water because I didn't bring my bikini. But I did find some cute shells and wrote random stuff in the sand. The first stop I did make was to the New York Aquarium.

I loved seeing the sea lions here especially. We made it just in time to see the 5pm showing which was the last showing of two sea lions they had. The line was RIDICULOUS to get in both the Aquarium and the Aquatheater.

Later on around 9:30pm was the start of the fireworks which were amazing. Apparently they do them here every Friday at 9:30pm. I haven't had a chance to experience fireworks in awhile considering they're banned in Colorado due to the forest fires that always break out over there.

It was a really good time on a Friday night. Glad I went with my best friend and cousin. The next few days are going to be busy and I will miss my city when it's time to leave.

Day 25 - NYC

Just another chill at home day. Watching Disney Channel has really been the main entertainment of my day. Today was also one of the coldest days so far. Just in the 60's which is a real surprise. Sadly I feel like I'm coming down with a cold which I hope is a joke.

Day 24 - NYC

I can't believe I only have a week left to enjoy my vacation before I head back to Colorado Springs and start getting ready for my senior year of high school. So much work...UGH!

Well today I didn't do much. All of my friends were busy with work so I decided to head out to 34th St/Penn Station to go to Victoria's Secret Pink (my favorite undergarment store) on last time for the week I'm here. Then I headed off to Forever 21. I made my first purchase there ever which was just cute hair accessories. I adore headbands and bows.

Afterwards I headed home because I believe I'm officially broke from excessive shopping. That basically means I won't be doing anymore until I'm home and that'll be for back to school (clothes + shoes + books, etc). Not sure what other plans I'll do. I still haven't gone to the beach, or Coney Island or other stores that I won't be seeing in Colorado.

I'll try to do at least a few more (not too expensive) things before I leave and of course I'll share them with you guys!

Day 23 - NYC

It's raining! Again. But that's ok because I need to cool down a bit and I decided to stay indoors anyway so that was a nice thing.

I'm out of ideas of where to go and what to do that actually interest me and not too touristy. Maybe my last week can just be a relaxing one.

Day 22 - NYC

Today was a pretty reasonable day. I hung out with one of my best friends and went down to SoHo once again. First I stopped off at Century 21 to retrieve my case that they forgot to give me for the Marc Jacob's sunglasses I purchased last week.

Now they're all fancied up in a nice soft case. While in the store I couldn't help but look around for something that will catch my eye. That's when I spotted this really cute studded Rebecca Minkoff wallet. It wasn't a good deal as the other things I got but was too cute to pass up.

I'm more of a pink kind of girl but this wallet in lavender and leather just stood out to me. It's pretty small and sturdy and will definitely be replacing the almost "Tiffany blue" leather Coach wallet that I'm currently using.

Besides that I went out to Chipotle where I got my usual vegetarian burrito. (Not liking the NYC price; so expensive)! Then off to Georgetown Cupcake shop where I tried a vanilla cupcake. Wasn't able to get a picture considering I was too busy stuffing my face. So far I think the red velvet was the best. No more cupcakes for a while. Too sweet!

Week 3 - NYC

Another wasted day. I've gotta say that the weather has been getting cooler only due to the fact that we are once again having thunderstorms.

Most likely I'll be doing something throughout the week even if it rains. Not much else to do that doesn't require the use of my credit card. I believe I'm done shopping since I need a break from clicking credit.

Day 20 - NYC

Not such a bad day but I didn't exactly do anything interesting. Once again it was really hot so I stayed inside the majority of the day. Had lunch/dinner with Danielle's family then stayed home to cool down and relax. I'll probably get out on Monday but I'm not sure what I'll do yet. My time here is decreasing everyday so I need to hurry!

Day 19 - NYC

One of the best days everrrr!

OMG so today I had the best shopping experience known to mankind and I'm so happy (probably because I'm a serious shopaholic). Anyways...I've come across the most amazing deals today at my favorite department store (Century 21)!

Ok so the first deal (not the best one) is a cute MICHAEL Michael Kors bag. I've always wanted one, slightly bigger but the price is what made me realize...I've got to have this. It's only valued at $98 but it was reduced to $59.97 then it had a "Pay 1/2 Price" sticker on it so I only paid 29.99 for this cutie. I'll most likely use this for the fall/winter since it comes off to me as a Christmas bag due to the color and sequins.

Now for the best deal ever! This is a pair of Marc Jacobs sunglasses. I've always wanted a bag from this designer but never can save up enough money for one. I found this in a rack of other sunglasses all alone at the bottom where I decided to grab them to try them on. The size stood out to me because they're huge and can barely fit on my face. Next, I checked the price. It's valued at $325 but was reduced to $99.97 and the best part was...there was a "take 90% off our price" sticker on it. That's when I looked at the designer and I saw Marc Jacobs. Yes people, Marc Jacobs sunglasses for $10! Absolutely amazing! I also had a few other deals but these were my favorites.

Later on I went out to Bento Sushi to have the most delicious California roll ever for lunch! At such a reasonable price too. They only charged me $5.95. My cheapest find for sushi so far since I've been eating sushi.

Next stop, Georgetown Cupcake shop in SoHo where I had the most amazing red velvet cupcake. When I say amazing...this was just...OMG! As you can see, the cream cheese frosting was so thick and creamy and was perfectly layered on the cupcake. It was a bit too sweet since I don't usually eat much sweets, especially the frosting. I could honestly say I highly doubt it's healthy to eat more than one cupcake but it's definitely yummy at only $2.75 for one! That may sound pricey but it was definitely worth it.

Now time to sit back and relax for awhile before I eventually come to maxing out my credit card.

Day 18 - NYC

Another day, another heatwave. Once again I did nothing because I refuse to die of heat exhaustion. This is honestly ridiculous but I really need to get out.

Maybe tomorrow.

Day 17 - NYC

I am sooooooo bored. There isn't much to do and the weather is ridiculously hot that whatever you do, you're bound to be exhausted of heat.

But, I'm also tired of sitting around doing absolutely nothing so I really need some new plans.

This is so frustrating!

Day 16 - NYC

It was such a calm day. Did tons of walking and went to visit the FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) Museum with my best friend.

Honestly the museum was probably one of the worst in the city considering it was one small room of a few fully clothed mannequins dressed in designer clothes from the past. You also weren't allowed to take pictures so it was really a bummer.

After that we went walking around into stores to shop and had lunch where I stopped into Whole Foods and had bought organic sushi (avocado rolls this time). So yummy!

I think I'm going to rest a bit tomorrow and head out the day after. It's really hot so it'a easy to tire out.

Day 15 - NYC

Yes! Today was such a fun day. I headed out to meet up with my best friend at Pier 96 along the Hudson River. We were pretty early so we mostly sat around the park to take in the view of New Jersey across the river and catch the cool river breeze considering it was about 92 degrees outside.

At around 5pm we went out to the boathouse to go kayaking. It was a really fun and new experience since I've never been kayaking before.

We had to wear life jackets and it wasn't a good idea to bring anything else with you in the water because it was positive you will get wet. There wasn't much people out at our time so we got to kayak for over an hour and a half. Time flew by really quickly.

It was a blast and I definitely want to do it again. I was completely soaked from the waist down but no one cared because everyone was having so much fun.

Later on we went out to grab a bite to eat. I had sushi. Probably the best I've had in awhile. I love California rolls. Then we went off to Century 21 department store where I spotted the cutest Michael Kors bag. I really really want it!

Hopefully I have as much fun tomorrow as I did today.

I need more plans!

Week 2 - NYC

Finally was I able to do laundry and just sit back and relax. Feels good!

I think I need to cut out the fast food here because it's starting to show up on my face! I hate breakouts. Definitely need to wash my face more gently for the next two weeks I'm here. Also I need to start applying sunscreen because I'm getting a really bad tan due to the heat. Ugh!

For the next day I'm hoping to head out with my best friend to go kayaking. I just wanted to do something different so this should be fun. Who would have ever guessed to go kayaking in the Hudson River. Definitely not me!

Day 13 - NYC

I'm exhausted! I was out for over 12 hours and during that time I was bored out of my mind doing absolutely nothing. Danielle and I went from house to house, first was a somewhat party where they provided a buffet then next was her grandparents house.

I mostly sat around because there wasn't much for me to do so I really didn't enjoy myself. Good thing it was only a Saturday. I'll most likely use my Sunday as a clean up day then start heading back out starting Monday.

Day 12 - NYC

Such a simple day. Quite boring actually. I kept to myself mostly. TV, Chinese food and skype can sum it all up.

So far the weather has kinda sucked this weekend. I'm not sure what is up with these thunderstorms. They're ruining my vacation. I need a clean up day to start on some laundry and prep for the following week.

Not sure what else I'll have planned for the future (rest of the month). Just have to sit back and see.

Birchbox - July 2013

Yay my Birchbox is finally here! It did come quicker than the last time but that's probably because I'm on the east coast. This month's theme is Power Play. Here's a peek:

Most samples were inspired by USA's hit series SUITS. I've never heard of the show considering I don't watch tv much but it's pretty cool that they picked out some of these samples.

This is what's included in my box this month:

First off, I'm disappointed.

Not by the products entirely but by the size. I know that they're samples and all but these are SUPER tiny. I won't be able to get much uses out of these at all. :(

Now from left to right, I received the Benta Berry G-1 moisturizing face cream which was a SUITS pick. I've never heard of this brand until now and apparently it's a French best-seller. It's supposed to leave your skin soft and matte while reducing your risks for breakouts and redness. It's also designed for both genders and hasn't been available stateside until now. I do love moisturizers because I have combination skin but this sample is super duper tiny so I probably would be pushing the limit if I can get 3 uses out of this.

Secondly I received the Number 4 super comb prep & protect spray which is for strengthening and repairing your hair. It's a leave-in conditioner that instantly detangles for all hair types. It also provides color protection and an extra dose of UV protection for those nice sunny days. By the way it's vegan which is pretty cool! This sample is the biggest out of all my samples I've received this month and I can say I should be able to do much with it.

Now this is one product I'm happy about (except for the size). Benefit Cosmetics girl meets pearl! It's a highlighter with light-reflecting pigments for a dewy glow. Basically it's a liquid pearl...for your face! It also has raspberry and chamomile with is known for soothing so it can be used to add to your moisturizer.

My last product (besides my beauty extra) are the packets of lotion. They're 100% Pure nourishing body cream. I received them in the scent green apple. They are 100% natural and vegan. The formula is full of anti aging ingredients and is super concentrated since it isn't watered down because water isn't an ingredient. I'm not excited about this because I usually hate samples in packets and plus...I see it as just simple lotion.

Lastly, the beauty extra for this month are the Birchbox bobby pins. It's supposed to be a pack of six but the sampling size is two. Basically this is to add minimal style to your hair. I would actually use these because I love adding pins and accessories to my hair. And since I just got a recent haircut this would hopefully help keep those flyaways in place.

I've gotta say, I really wasn't impressed this month but I still will be looking forward to another box next month. Definitely will be doing my reviews in the shop so I can be closer to 100 points which equals to $10 on Birchbox.

Here's everything that was included in my box to shop for as full size items in the Birchbox shop:

Day 11 - NYC

It was such a long day! Yesterday I went out with Danielle to a high school in the Lower East Side of Manhattan where we went to play volleyball. I didn't play much considering I didn't really know how to play because I'm a tennis player but it was still fun. We also went out to grab some pizza. Nothing is better than New York pizza. :)

Later on that day I was contacted by Teen Vogue to be notified that I won a sweepstakes for a $100 shopping spree. I was pretty happy about that because out of all my years reading Teen Vogue, it was the first time that I've won something from them. I have to go through a lot to accept my prize so wish me luck on that!

Now to hopefully sit back and relax for awhile. I believe the weather is going to be rainy for so the temperature should hopefully cool down. I hope next week will be better.

Day 10 - NYC

Can't believe that 10 days have already passed. Time is really going by fast. Very soon I'll be heading back to Colorado Springs and getting ready for school.

Today the weather was a little upside down, meaning that we had thunderstorms once again. I stayed in and watched tv mostly. I really wish I could workout because I hate staying in and not doing much. I did make me a nice breakfast meal today. Blueberry waffles, eggs, and a nice glass of grapefruit juice. Really was refreshing.

Later on today I did some online shopping even though I was supposed to be on a break from shopping entirely. I'm also supposed to be expecting my Birchbox soon. Can't wait to see what's inside and do a quick review.

Hopefully the weather returns to sunshine (not heat wave) and I can get out again.

Day 9 - NYC

More shopping! Hence the street name. I love it and I don't think I can I can ever have enough of it.

My credit card and I (plus a friend) spent some quality time in Victoria's Secret which is like my favorite store when it comes to undergarments. I especially love Pink, it just screams happiness and color and everything! It was sort of crowded which is nothing new because basically every store in the city is crowded.

I love this specific store because it's way bigger than the one I go to in Colorado. Pink has its own floor! I just wish they would have a sale. That would make me even happier. Hopefully before my vacation ends.

Day 8 - NYC

Today was once again (probably third time in a row) a lazy day. This day consisted of sitting around watching tv and texting the night away. I have plans made for the next day because I'm ready to start heading out again.

I think I'll do a wee bit of shopping or more like window shopping.

P.S - I tried avocado eggrolls from The Cheesecake Factory and they were beyond amazing. I usually love anything avocado so that can be a reason why they definitely hit the spot. Is a must try! :)

Week 1 - NYC

Once again I had another lazy day. I stayed at home to watch tv and skyped with Andrew basically all day. It was in fact a lazy Sunday.

What I did do was give myself a manicure and a pedicure plus a face mask. I've gotta say that it was very relaxing. My nails are now a pop of pink and my face feels very clean which is hard to feel while living here with all the gunk in the air.

Hopefully I'll have some plans next time. Maybe I'll come off my shopping break since there are some really good sales going on this week. :)

Day 6 - NYC

Yesterday I took a 2 hour trip upstate New York with Danielle to go to Victory Lake Camp for the day (no pictures sorry!). Mostly we attended gospel concerts and walked around a lot and didn't leave until 12 hours later.

It was so tiring! And hot! I've gotta say it wasn't a bad experience though. There were tons of people there and it's a yearly thing so I'm kind of happy I got to attend this year. Yay!

Day 5 - NYC

I'm getting to the point of exhaustion with  shopping. I think I'm going to take a week off from standing in lines and looking for my size through all the racks.

I've been doing a lot of walking around too but I enjoy it. I've missed the city sidewalks even though they're always crowded. It's a good simple exercise. Now to just sit back and relax for awhile.

Day 4 - NYC

I've gotta say this is the one time I didn't celebrate Independence Day. Instead, I stayed in for breakfast then headed out to meet up with an old friend who I've known for years. It was great seeing her again.

We both headed to Fulton St/Broadway where we did some shopping at the most amazing department store, Century 21!

Afterwards we went out to grab a bite of something to eat. Of course everywhere is always crowded in the city.

By the time I got home I rushed to the bathroom to wash my face. Walking around so much makes you sticky, especially with all the humidity and whats not.

I was supposed to see the fireworks today and the Empire State Building but I was way too exhausted. Sorry!

Day 3 - NYC

Today was just a chill day. I relaxed and watch tv mostly. I was supposed to head out and do another round of shopping but once I stepped outside thunderstorms kicked in. UGH!

Instead I just took a nice cool drive through the city at night.

Day 2 - NYC

I almost forgot how expensive it is to survive in the city. So far I used up over $10 in just public transportation alone and I didn't even go far!

Dining out with the girls for lunch at TGIFridays was great. The food was yummy! I had a nice skillet garlic shrimp that was new to the menu and a strawberry lemonade crush.

Later on we did some quick shopping. Most places were super crowded so I didn't even bother getting in line. It was ridiculous! Maybe next time.

Day 1 - NYC

Yesterday was a wreck waking up at 3:30 in the morning to be on my plane out of Colorado Springs by 6:35.

I landed in Atlanta, Georgia where I got delayed due to rainy weather in NYC. That was horrible!

Once I did land at Laguardia airport my luggage landed at JFK airport. Traffic was ridiculous to get over there but I'm just relieved I'm here.

Now for the fun!
