Summer Essentials

Summer is here, and we're outsideeeeeee okay? But first, let's make sure we're ready. I don't know about you guys, but in Portland, OR, the traffic is picking up, the restaurants are crowded, and everyone and their granny are hitting the streets. This post is going to be quite similar to my typical summer favorites posts, but I did throw some newbies in here so let me put you on to the goodies.

1. Hydro Flask 32 oz Wide Mouth Bottle

  • Possibly one of the best investments I've made when it comes to making a water bottle purchase. I used to be a typical Nalgene gal, but I realized my water always turned luke warm throughout the day. Not this! I swear I've left this water bottle in my car overnight and by the next day the water was still slightly chilled. Money well spent, I promise. But FYI, the bottle dents pretty easily so try your best to prevent drops.

2. Kodak One Time Use Camera

  • This is a throwback to my childhood. I remember my mom purchasing these cameras and getting them developed with all of my childhood memories. Considering the current digital state of the world, it's fun to kick it old school and shoot some quality film with your friends. I'll be using this on my next trip so I'll keep you updated!

3. Supergoop! Glow Stick SPF 50

  • Ok, I was definitely influenced to purchase this product. As you all should know, I swear by my Black Girl Sunscreen and it's been the only sunscreen I've used for the past year. I'm familiar with Supergoop but haven't used them in a really long time. I'm not sure if I can get on the wave for this particular product, mainly because I have no clue if I'm using enough of it to ensure my face is protected. And boy does it make me look shiny. I guess that's supposed to be the "glow" factor but I'm not a fan of it making me feel like a greasy piece of fried chicken. I do love the size since it's easier and more convenient for travel so maybe this can be your on-the-go sunscreen after your main application.

4. Boscia Blotting Linens

  • I wouldn't be true to myself if I didn't feature these blotting sheets. I've been using them for 5+ years and they've never disappointed me. I haven't been wearing makeup at all these days but while wearing sunscreen I can get a bit greasy/shiny in the face throughout the day so I still carry these around and they always do wonders.

5. Megababe Happy Pits Detoxifying Underarm Mask

  • Another purchase that was under the influence. Have you ever heard of an underarm mask? Literally, like a facial for your armpits lol. I had no idea it was a thing until I witnessed a local content creator bragging about it. As a natural deodorant user, I felt like this was a necessary to detox my underarms even though it's recommended for those wanting to transition to natural deo. I haven't tried it enough to deem the effectiveness but for my first try I thought it was a pretty cool activity to add to my self care list.

Send me any essentials that are on your list! I love trying new products lately and some of my faves have come from recommendations so you never know what's out there.
