Ipsy - November 2014

Ipsy has arrived, and from the sneak peaks that were revealed earlier this month, I'm sort of excited! This month marks my one year anniversary with Ipsy. I've been looking back at my past glam bags through out the year and of course there were the pretty great ones and then the pitfalls. Some of my favorite products to this day I've been introduced to through Ipsy so I'm surely thanking them for that. This month's theme is "Girl Meets Glitter", oh my, you've gotta love that glam bag!

Now by the looks of it all, I can tell you that I'm immediately disappointed. I'm so disappointed that I'm not actually surprised of being disappointed this month. There were so many amazing brands being featured and I feel as if I always end up with the "cheap" products/brands that I personally would not purchase for myself. Call me picky but this sucks. However, value is always top notch which I can admit. I received about $50 worth of products which is great for the $10 subscription but I think it's time that I end here. Generally Ipsy has that occasional product (usually one per glam bag) that's amazing but lately I've been upset with the drugstore brands and non-compatible products I've been receiving. Also their points system really sucks which is why Birchbox will always remain my favorite.

Marc Anthony Oil of Morocco Argan Oil Volume Shine Hairspray
Elizabeth Mott you're so FINE Eyeliner
Be A Bombshell Cosmetics Eye Base
Laura Mercier Invisible Loose Setting Powder + Mini Fan Brush
Wet n Wild MegaSlicks Balm Stain

Marc Anthony is a drugstore brand but his hairsprays are usually up to par for me, especially the smell they leave behind. This one is great to use after blow drying or just anytime. Doesn't weigh my hair down and smells great.

Elizabeth Mott is surely on the list of brands that are very repetitive in my glam bags. Her products are much better than Be A Bombshell but I literally have over 90% of her collection thanks to Ipsy. This eyeliner is decent but I would much rather prefer liquid pen eyeliners since they're much easier to apply in my opinion.

Seriously? Be A Bombshell again! I really wish Ipsy would give up with this brand of cosmetics. At first I usually think it's ok and can be tolerated and then I come to realization that I'm just pitying them. This eye base isn't half bad if you like shimmery neutral eye bases but personally I'm just tired of this brand and their products.

The Laura Mercier powder makes my point when I usually say there's that one amazing product in a glam bag for me. I've never received her products in a subscription box before and I'm excited to have a chance to add this to my beauty regime!

The Wet n Wild balm stain just proves another point of cheap drugstore products that I normally won't purchase for myself. Yes, I know that some "cheap drugstore" products out there are actually great! Don't get me wrong, but I won't classify as this to be one of them. The idea of the balm stain is cool but the quality just does not work for me.

Overall, although the bag had a great value and three full size products, I'm just not too happy about it. I think it's time that Ipsy and I part ways and I think that I can admit that I'll miss the cute glam bags after awhile but it's time to move on. After a year, it has been fun with ups and downs but so far I've noticed way too many downs than ups. I hope Ipsy show a sign of improvement down the line and maybe I'll consider resubscribing in the near future!
