Lazy!

Just about 2 days before I land in NYC and I haven't done absolutely a thing to prepare.

I spent yesterday out eating Cold Stone Creamery and strolling around with Andrew which was nice because it was really sunny and I needed some fresh air. Once I got home I soon received a severe thunderstorm warning on my phone. The weather is really confusing over here. I will never understand how we can experience all seasons in one day.

Today I've been slouching around reading my August edition of Teen Vogue (not sure if it has hit stores yet). The theme is "back to school" so I'm sort of excited since it's going to be my last year of high school. Also kind of scared because college is next.

I guess I should consider to pack my suitcase. I don't want to be in a craze mess tomorrow.

Goodnight!

BBL.

I know I haven't been posting much lately and I'm sincerely sorry about that. Nothing screams "boring" more than a dead blog.

I've been getting ready for my trip back home (to NYC) for a mini 1 month vacay before I start school in August here in Colorado Springs. Basically what that means is shopping, fun and more shopping! I'm so excited! Definitely will be posting a lot then.

Starting July 1st! :)

Birchbox - June 2013

Finally! My first Birchbox is here and I'm super excited!!! This month's theme is Wanderlust. I can't wait to discover my next everything.  Here's a peek:

For those of you who don't know what Birchbox is, it's basically a monthly beauty/lifestyle sample subscription that costs $10 month-to-month or $110 annually (basically one free month).

This is what's included in my box this month:

First off, I'm in love.

I was very lucky to receive the LAQA & Co Lil' Lip in Pinkman which is a vivid fuchsia color and a Birchbox exclusive. It's part of a duo but sadly you only get to try one. It's a smooth shea butter and color complex which leaves your lips soft and glossy! YES!

Secondly I received the Color Club in London Calling which is part of the Wanderlust Collection, also a Birchbox exclusive inspired by four of their new global offices. It's a neon pastel shade of minty green which is really cute.

I know who's getting a manicure later today. :)

Wait, there's more!

I've gotta say that the Suki exfoliating foaming cleanser makes me wanna eat it! It's a sugar scrub and two-in-one cleanser with lemongrass extract that smells soooooooooo delicious. It's a very small container which is probably good for about a few uses depending on how much you put on but it is a SAMPLE so I'm happy with it. And by the way, its vegan!

Also Birchbox decided to throw in some postcards which are inspired by their new global offices as a treat; New York, France, London and Barcelona. Cute!

Lastly I received a Davines collection which included the Love Smoothing shampoo + conditioner, and the Oi/Oil Absolute Beautifying Potion. The conditioner and oil potion were beauty extras which was nice but I haven't tried yet. The potion's purpose is to tame frizz and strengthen hair. I also haven't used the shampoo yet but I can tell you that it has a very rich, soft (not too strong) scent that's lovely and I got a decent sample size.

To sum this all up, I am VERY pleased with my first box and look forward to more in the future!

Also another cool thing about Birchbox is that I can review the samples I got on their website and get points and I receive 10 points per review (100 points = $10) to use in their shop. (You also can get points when you have an annual subscription but not a month-to-month).

This was definitely worth $10. :)

Here's everything that was included in my box to shop for as full size items in the Birchbox shop:

Kitty!

Introducing my kitty named Kitty. :)

I got this Himalayan munchkin over a month ago because of my original 5 year old Persian kitty named Snowflake went missing. Kitty is a handful. She's always pouncing around and playing with my pups but mostly when I catch her she's in a deep sleep. She's only going on about 4 months now and already she's getting huge. Beware of her cuteness!

Go Green!

Took a trip to the commissary today. I really loved how green everything was. I am in love with my greens which is great due to being a vegetarian. I took this picture specifically because I've never tried any of these veggies (artichoke, asparagus, eggplant) with the exception of the bagged green beans.

So many new things to consider trying in the future!

Help my lashes!

Ok so I have a problem. I'm searching for the perfect mascara. I've always had this problem because my lashes are naturally thick, full and curled. I've been told I don't need mascara but I love the extra volume look it gives me and I figured, why not.

So, I've been seriously trying every type of mascara I can get my hands on (from e.l.f. to Lancome) and so far my favorite is the Lancome Hypnose Drama which I tried in waterproof ($27, upper right picture, third from left). My fault with this mascara is after using it for awhile my brush bristles started sticking together with the mascara which made it harder to apply correctly. I love the fact that the bristles are somewhat longer than the average brush. And when they say waterproof, they mean waterproof! Using it with my lashes, I don't quite get the intense dramatic look that you get with false lashes because my lashes are thick but it does help a bit. What I really want is something that can help A LOT.

Today I decided to purchase the Lancome Virtuose Black Carat ($27, lower right picture) which is made to curl, lengthen and volumize. I figured since my lashes are already curled the curled wand will work through it. Hopefully this works for the amount of money I have to spend since I use mascara on a daily basis. I also decided to pick up a tweezerman mini slant tweezer ($15) for my brows. Nothing's wrong with perfectly tweezed brows.

Any comments on what your perfect mascara is? I'm willing to try new things! :)

Let's Bowl.

So for the past few days I've been bored out of my mind. I didn't wanna write about how bored I was (even though I'm sort of doing that now) but today was a bit different.

I went out bowling with my family which means bowling + pizza and drinks. Honestly I wasn't in the mood to bowl tonight so I just cheered on. Maybe next time.

Now to just sit back and relax because tomorrow's FRIDAY!

Later Today...

Third times a charm.

So I got to drive to the mall for the first time (accompanied by my mom of course) and it wasn't scary! Just went to shop the sale of my favorite store in there, well in Colorado Springs in general (Victoria's Secret). Then went to grab a bite at Chipotle once again. Definitely my last time for the week. Way too much fast food for me.

Just going to listen to music, maybe watch netflix and text the night away.

Sunday Funday.

Good morning! I've been up for maybe about 3 hours now. Within that time we (me + family) went out for breakfast since everyone was lazy and didn't want to make breakfast at home. I didn't mind either way.

I was pretty upset once I got to IHOP and placed my order only to be told that NY cheesecake pancakes had been removed from the menu. I've been ordering NY cheesecake pancakes for years. They're so yummy, how dare they remove them?! :(

Well instead I ordered red velvet pancakes which weren't as yummy as NY cheesecake pancakes but they were very fulfilling and...pretty. My eggs and hashbrowns were also top notch. I had to postpone my vegan diet until July because I noticed everywhere I go it's really hard having vegan options at hand. The closest Whole Foods is about 12 miles away!

Good Time!

Fun, fun, fun, oh how I love having so much fun. Today was a pretty cozy day. Woke up to Pretty Little Liars which is always a blast and then made plans for the rest of the day with Andrew due to cancelled plans yesterday. :D

Earlier today we (me + Andrew) went to see The Purge. Surprisingly it wasn't a bad movie and I'm pretty jumpy during scary/creepy movies but this one was ok. I liked it! Hopefully people won't view this as a realistic thing to do in real life. NOT acceptable!

Later on we went exploring for a candy shop. We had a craving for sweets but did not want to spend theater prices for candy (almost $5...seriously -_-, but the ticket prices are really nice here compared to back home in NYC). We never did find the candy we wanted after staring at an aisle full of reasonably priced candy in Target. Then of course my craving (anything Mexican) kicked in so off we went to Chipotle once again where I made him order his first burrito and I got my first burrito bowl. Lovely of course!

Now I'm home blogging away and will head back to watch more PLL, probably read the new July edition of Cosmopolitan and skype with Andrew. Goodnight! <3

Friday!

So for the past few days I've been crashing at a friends (CJ's) house for awhile due to the boredom I was suffering in my own home. Seriously, I was dying. No one should ever be that bored.

It didn't really help much but I'm now back in my own home. Just another boring day because of cancelled plans to the zoo due to gross weather (isolated thunderstorms...really?!...ugh).

So far I've spent my day watching netflix (Pretty Little Liars <3), eating, and browsing the web. I finally ordered my Birchbox monthly subscription. Can't wait to try out new products/samples and I'll be ready to post and share them with you (virtually of course)! :)

Yesterday + Today.

Sorry that I didn't post yesterday, I was so caught up with netflix and my boyfriend (Andrew). It was a really nice day out too. I'm pretty sure that the temperature went up to at least 80 degrees but did get slightly windy later on through out the day which was a nice breeze.

I spent my morning relaxing and freshening up. My afternoon was with Andrew where we went to Chipotle (his first time) and I totally destroyed (literally) my vegetarian burrito (shown below) while he had his first burrito bowl, I'm so proud! And my night was pretty calm and fun; video games and sports with the boys. :)

Today was my lazy day. I cleaned up my room which is what I needed to do for the longest time ever. I somewhat organized my bookcase (shown below). I need to upgrade my bookcase to keep my magazines organized before it falls apart. I can actually tell that my middle shelf is slowly bending due to the weight of my magazines. And that's not even all of them!

Oh Yeah, June!

It's officially summer and I'm finished with junior year. YES!!! I'm super excited to start senior year of high school in August.

But anyways, here is a quick introduction about myself.

Well I go by Krissy, I'm 17 years old and I currently live in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I'm a New York City native and so far I'm unemployed. I know I'm still a teenager but I do want to experience working one day. I'll work on that through-out the summer. I don't even have my driver's license! Also one random thing about me is that I decided to go vegan again this summer, I'm usually vegetarian all year. I tried it last summer and I loved the results but couldn't handle it during the school year due to very limited options of food choice. Yes, I have strange eating habits.

So far, I'm honestly bored. I've been out of school since May 24th and nothing interesting has really happened since then. I decided to create this blog because of my love and interest for blogging in general. I hope to share my fun and exciting moments with you readers through-out my summer and hopefully (if I'm not too busy) my senior year. :)
